Wilcox Mofflin Ltd

2019

Brief requirement:

The brief requires a set of industrial standard documentation includes existing floor plans and the new proposal plans as well as a proper return brief for clients.

Wilcox Mofflin is a historic five-storey building in Sydney which was built in 1911 as a hide and skin warehouse with two storeys were added in 1911. The building is currently utilised as a mix of commercial offices and a campus for tertiary studies.

Converted into a multi-residential building, the new owner of the apartment is a couple who favours the urban industrial style. The exterior walls are kept as they are with the internal rough surfaces of red-brown bricks exposed, giving the interior a warm and inviting feeling. Semi-washed red cherry timber floor floods through the apartment allowing the starkly contrasting furnishings to stand out gracefully. The spatial planning was carefully considered to take advantage of the heritage windows which allow natural light to stream through the living areas. Mosaic style tiles line the walls of the bathroom and create the illusion of infinite space.
